Song of the Day "Razor Blade"

Today's song of the day comes from Luke Bryan's brand new album Kill the Lights. Kill the Lights is Luke's fifth studio album and may be one of, if not, the best yet. A well known hip hop artist by the name of Dr. Dre put out his third studio album the same week as Luke Bryan. To everyones suprise, Luke took the title of debuting at number one, moving 340,000 copies of Kill the Lights compared to Dre who only sold 29, 000 copies of Compton.

"Razor Blade" is the fifth track off of Kill the Lights and was written by Jeff Hyde, Ryan Tyndell, and Rodney Clawson. Rodney Clawson has also had a hand in writing such songs as "Burnin' it Down" by Jason Aldean, "One of Those Nights" by Tim McGraw, and "Bartender" by Lady Antebellum just to name a few.
Luke Bryan is currently out on the road for his Kick The Dust Up tour, which has had opening acts such as Dustin Lynch (who previously had the song of the day) and Randy Houser. So the tour is packed with three guys who have some of the best pipes in the business. The next stop on the tour is in Jacksonville, FL at the Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena on September 17th. Luke then goes to finish up Florida by playing Tampa on the 18th, and West Palm Beach on the 18th and 19th.

Song of the Day "Rocket"

Today's song of the day goes to Josh Dorr and his song "Rocket." Josh Dorr released his self titled EP on June 16, 2015. Josh is currently signed to RCA Nashville with such acts as Miranda Lambert, Chris Young, and Jake Owen. Josh is from a small town called Gillette, Wyoming, where he attended high-school and even won a state championship in high-school football.

Josh Dorr also went threw some adversity before finally landing his big deal. Josh's apartment in Nashville was destroyed and when he was left with nothing he contemplated leaving Nashville and his music dream behind. Through the adversity he stayed and landed his big deal.

"Rocket" is now the second single off of his self titled EP. Which is currently available on iTunes.

Here is the song from Josh Dorr's VEVO page on YouTube.
I also added this studio session from Josh's VEVO account which I thought sounded friggen awesome.

Breaking Benjamin Show

Benjamin killed it. I went to the show wondering what song they were going to open with. The entire ride there I kept thinking to myself "Coming out to 'So Cold' would be so fu**ing epic." Once we got to the show I kept singing the opening guitar lick from "So Cold" in my head when we were just standing around waiting for them to come on. So I was sitting there drinking my rum bucket and then the lights went down and something magical happened. The opening lick from "So Cold" wasn't just in my head any more, it was coming from the speakers. Smoke starts to fill the stage as the band walks out playing the intro. Every band member is in their respective spots on the stage. The drummer is high above them all, pounding away on the kick drum. The guitar players and bassist are posted in front of their mic stands. Then from stage right enters Benjamin Burnley and the crowd (myself included) erupts and all hell breaks loose. It was one of the most epic starts to a concert I have ever seen.

Overall it was a really good show. Played some great hits and I got lost in them a few times. Didn't stick around to hear if they played "Close to Heaven" but I hope they played it because that song is unreal.

Like I do at all shows I go to, I purchased a Breaking Benjamin tour shirt with their Celtic logo thing on the front. Very comfy material.

Here is a pic of the front and the back.

If you haven't checked out Breaking Benjamin's new album Darke Before Dawn be sure to go get it on iTunes or however you guys get/listen to your music.

Have a great week Yall!
